16-year-old among reported deaths from COVID-19


The Department of Health reported today five deaths by COVID-19, 604 confirmed cases, 74 probable cases Y 240 suspected cases additional.

Of the reported deaths, four were listed as confirmed. These correspond to a 67 year old woman from the Bayamón region, a 77 year old man from the Arecibo region, a 85 year old man of the Caguas region and a 16 year old from the Ponce region.

In addition, it was recorded a probable death which corresponds to a 83 year old man from the Bayamón region.

With these additional deaths, the confirmed deaths total 704 and the probable 210, so the total deaths is 914.

On the other hand, the total confirmed case results is 40,574, of which 21,851 are women and 18,723 are men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with sampling date from October 28 to November 11. The total was adjusted after adding two cases with sampling dates of October 23 and 27.

Meanwhile, the 240 suspected cases additional have sampling date from October 28 to November 11. These cases, by definition, are those that have a positive serological test. In this line, the total is 35,416 after subtracting 52 cases that had a positive molecular test and 10 that subsequently had a positive antigen test, and were added to the cases registered as part of this report. In addition, 18 cases were added with a sample collection date from June 30 to October 16. The suspected cases are divided into 19,811 women and 15,605 men.

In addition, the report includes the results of the antigen testing, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cataloged as probable cases. The total positive results in these tests is 545, which was adjusted after subtracting 13 cases that subsequently had a positive molecular test, and were added to the confirmed cases reported in this report. The additional probable cases reported are 74, which include samples taken from October 28 to November 11. The distribution by gender is 284 women and 261 men.
