Volunteers could receive $2,000 for Covid-19 vaccine trials | PRESENT

The race for the Covid-19 vaccine is in the testing phase. The Accel Research Sites research clinic in Deland is looking for volunteers who wish to participate in the Covid-19 vaccine trial.

“We look for high-risk groups, such as those over 65 or over, or who may have health conditions such as emphysema, heart disease, asthma, hepatitis. We also look for high-risk employment groups, such as teachers, first responders or who work in hospitals, doctors’ offices or nursing homes, ”reported Dr. Bruce Rankin of Accel Research Sites.

The testing process consists of a first dose, which will be complemented with a second round three weeks after the initial injection, during which time the patient’s health will be monitored over the phone.

Side effects include fever, tenderness or pain in the area where the injection was given, and muscle aches that may last up to 72 hours. The symptoms reported by the volunteers who have already participated in the study have not reported anything serious.

Despite the fact that the Covid-19 vaccine consists of 3 stages, and second doses have been applied, with good results, the research has not progressed further due to a lack of volunteers, who may fear to try it.

It is important to note that this Accel Research Sites research clinic, located in DeLand, offers a payment of $ 150 per visit, coupled with extra bonuses for follow-up over the phone. In total, the process lasts 24 months and would generate around $ 2,000 to participate in the trial of this long-awaited vaccine against Covid-19.
