200,000 people have access to a government health plan | government

The governor, Wanda Vázquez, announced today that 200,000 people will have access to the health plan of the government of Puerto Rico.

“One of the greatest satisfactions, today 200 thousand lives can have a medical cover. There should be no one who does not have equal access to medical services. Thanks to @FOMBPR @daskeel @omarjmarrero @jmstoripan Lorenzo González against all odds, WE ACHIEVED IT! ”, The governor published on social networks.

The director of the Health Insurance Administration (ASES), Jorge Galva, said in the transition hearings that he was waiting for the approval of the federal agency Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS, for its acronym in English) to add to the Vital coverage to thousands of people without a medical plan.

However, he acknowledged that the people who are included in the plan will be with the benefit for less than a year, because the government has funds until September of next year.
