The Commissioner of the Police Bureau, Henry Escalera, reported that 136 agents have reported positive results for the coronavirus (Covid-19), while 378 officers remain in quarantine as a preventive measure.
Three barracks and work units remain closed: the Finance Division, Las Piedras District and the Caguas Area Office of Administrative Investigations.
Since the last report, the Drug and Narcotics Division (Metro), the Fajardo Area Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) and the Fajardo Drug and Narcotics Division were opened.
On the other hand, 3,296 agents have been reincorporated to their duties since the emergency began in March.
Escalera indicated that agents assigned to neighboring barracks have been appointed to those affected to reinforce preventive patrolling and address the complaints that are reported.
He added that in all the barracks and closed units a process of decontamination and deep cleaning is carried out.
