SAN JUAN – Gender diversity, recovery techniques and sustainability in sport, will be the topics that will be discussed in the 3rd Congress of Children’s Sports that will take place on Thursday, April 15 at 6:00 in the afternoon at the Museum of Sport in Guaynabo.
The congress organized by the Puerto Rican Institute for Sports and Recreation Development (IPDDER), attached to the Sports and Recreation Department (DRD), will be free of cost and in a hybrid format, with limited face-to-face capacity and online through Microsoft Teams.
“We faithfully believe that education is the key to transforming societies. For this reason, through it we want to promote zero tolerance for violence or abuse in sport. This congress gives us the opportunity to have great exponents of the sport. The congress is free of cost and although we will have a very limited capacity in person, we will have the virtual option for Microsoft Teams. So anyone interested in educating themselves on these issues will have the opportunity to participate in one way or another ”, highlighted the DRD secretary, Ray Quiñones Vázquez.
The event is aimed at sports coaches, coaches, physical fitness instructors, physical education teachers, parents, the sports community and the general public.
“In these times of pandemic that we are living, it is imperative to talk about sustainability in sport. We continue to open discussion channels and we are always at the forefront of issues that affect our community. On this occasion we include topics on gender diversity in sport, recovery techniques and we conclude with a forum on the sustainability of sport where we will have different points of view from the economic aspect, the sports coach, public policy and promoter of sports and educational events ”, Indicated the director of the IPDDER, Juan García Rivera.
The conferences will be given by the secretary of the DRD Ray Quiñones Vázquez, Dr. Ramón Álvarez Feliciano, executive director of the Albergue Olímpico, José J. Grana Rodríguez director of Power League, Carlos Guzmán Colón, athletics teacher and coach. Likewise, it will have the participation of María Cruz Aquino, social worker and Rafael Hernández Polanco from the Department of the Family, and the athletic therapist, Dr. Yamilka Padilla Vázquez.
On the other hand, García Rivera reported that professionals in different disciplines will be able to obtain four hours of continuing education for a cost of $ 25.
