5.3 magnitude earthquake is felt in Puerto Rico | PRESENT


The Puerto Rico Seismic Network reported a 5.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred near Tortola Island, in the British Virgin Islands.

The earthquake occurred at 2:24 in the afternoon, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The preliminary magnitude reported was 5.1.

Its maximum intensity was in Santa Cruz.

There is no tsunami advisory, warning or watch for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Residents of municipalities such as Caguas, San Juan, Guaynabo, Aibonito, Canóvanas, Bayamón, Cataño and Fajardo reported feeling the earth movement.
