They mentioned that the aid is possible through an allocation of $ 85 million from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

“The food sustenance of minors during the emergency caused by COVID-19 is one of the highest priorities of this administration. Governor Pedro Pierluisi has been emphatic that no minor should be without the necessary food support. Each eligible family will receive two payments of $ 569.86 per child in a period of two months, which represents a significant economic relief at this time for many parents, “said the Secretary of the Family in written communication.

This allocation of funds from the CCP-EBT covers the period from October 2020 to May 2021 and grants a total of $ 1,139.66 to each child divided into two payments of $ 569.83 to children participating in the PAN. Disbursements are scheduled for June and July.

The head of the Department of the Family stressed the importance of this support to families that is part of the food support plan approved by Congress and that adds up to 541 million dollars disbursed to date. “It is an unprecedented assignment aimed at the nutrition and health of minors on the island. These resources allow them to concentrate on other aspects of their development and well-being with the certainty that they have food on their table ”.

Each allowance for food support goes directly to families through their Family Card to help them maintain a healthy diet and good health ”.

The administrator pointed out that, “it is important that participants remember that each monthly disbursement can be used for up to a period of six months, so they do not have to make use of the total assistance in a single month, this allows them to use the funds at your best convenience and according to your need. Families can see the status of their account and transactions by accessing www.ebtpr.com”.
