Ponce – A man was scammed on Wednesday, in the premises of a supermarket located on the PR 2 highway in Ponce, the Police reported.
The complainant, Carlos Torres, alleges that a woman with an accent when she spoke approached him and indicated that she had a winning Puerto Rico Lottery ticket, but that she could not change it because she did not have a residence document.
The woman asked for $ 10,000 for the ticket. The complainant withdrew the money from two banks and handed the cash to the woman.
The complaint was referred to the Property Crimes and Fraud Division for investigation.
