The executive president of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority, Doriel Pagán Crespo, reported the cancellation of the service interruption plan for the 140 thousand clients that are supplied from the Carraízo reservoir in the municipalities of Canóvanas, Carolina, San Juan and Trujillo High.
The determination was carried out after the analysis of the reservoir and after receiving during the past days rain and good runoff in its basins.
“Due to recent rains and the return of a more frequent pattern of precipitation , we have determined that, as of today, there is sufficient supply to supply all the clients of the Authority who use the Carraízo reservoir without the need for an interruption plan. However, this is not the time to let our guard down: we must continue to be prudent in the use of water, "said Pagán Crespo.
The municipalities of Carolina, San Juan, Trujillo Alto and parts of Canóvanas will once again have the service of drinking water on a regular basis. The process of reversing system operations will take place tomorrow, Monday, July 27 at 9:00 a.m. when the valves and pump stations will be jointly opened, for both zone A and zone B.
It was reported that the operation will be carried out gradually to minimize breakdowns and sudden changes in pipeline pressures. Service recovery will take longer for high and distant sectors.
