AAA Announces Scheduled Works at Hatillo-Camuy Filter Plant | government


Sectors of Hatillo and Camuy could experience from low pressures to interruption of drinking water service this Tuesday, January 26, due to scheduled work at the Hatillo-Camuy filter plant, reported the Arecibo area director of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), Samuel Rosario Vega.

“As of Monday, January 25, the works to replace the transformer located in the Hatillo-Camuy filtration plant will begin and will last until Wednesday, January 27. The facility will be operating with electricity generated. However, the service could be affected for sectors of Hatillo and Camuy ”, explained the official.

Rosario Vega added that to minimize the impact, operational adjustments will be made to maintain the distribution tanks at optimal levels for service recovery.

The sectors that could experience from low pressure to interruption in the drinking water service of the municipality of Camuy are: Los Méndez, Cibao, Camuy Arriba, Zanja Plaz, Matojillo, Cuatro Calles, Abra Onda, Palomar and Yeguada. While the sectors of the municipality of Hatillo that could be affected are: Capaez, Las Piedras, Naranjito, La Paloma and El Cementerio.

Given the possibility of turbidity when the service is restored, it is recommended to boil the water intended for human consumption for three minutes.
