AAA begins project to benefit 200 families in Barranquitas

BARRANQUITAS – The executive president of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), engineer Doriel Pagán Crespo, announced this Sunday the start of the project to install two thousand feet of pipes that will connect 200 families to the drinking water service of the Filtration Plant Barrancas and the Pozo La Torre system, in Barranquitas.

“After making an investment of more than half a million dollars, in projects that included improvements to the Barrancas Filtration Plant, we can announce that as of tomorrow, Monday, the installation work of two thousand feet of four-inch pipes will begin. diameter in PVC that will finally improve the stability of the water supply to these families who for years have demanded a project like this, ”Pagán Crespo said in written statements.

The connection works for the drinking water service of these 200 families includes previous works such as the rehabilitation of the Barrancas plant filters and the interconnection of the Las Bocas filtration plant system and the La Torre well. These works, which have already been completed, benefit sectors such as Farallón, La Pacheca, El Collao, Cañabón and Parcelas La Gallera de Barranquitas.

This final phase will also benefit Barrancas families located on the PR-770 highway. It is expected that once the improvement works are completed, the affected communities will receive the water supply in their residences without interruption. During these works, the supply of drinking water to these areas should not be affected.

For his part, the mayor of Barranquitas, Elliot Colón Blanco indicated that “we are extremely satisfied with the beginning of the interconnection works that the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority will carry out to resolve the water supply situation of so many families in the community of Canyons. Since our arrival at the mayor’s office, we have managed several meetings with the AAA that are bearing fruit today. We trust that they will do a permanent job to definitively resolve this situation. I thank the officials of the Authority for their commitment to our people ”.
