The Montaña filter plant in Aguadilla is out of operation due to electrical problems in the raw water pump stations of Lake Calero and the Culebrinas River, reported the director of the Aqueducts and Sewers Authority (AAA) in the area de Aguadilla, engineer Nelson Saavedra.

As a result, subscribers residing in Aguadilla, Aguada and Moca will have low pressure and interruption of the water service.

The Maricao filter plant, which serves Maricao and La Sierrita, La Cuchilla, Rosario Alto neighborhood and PR-348 highway in San Germán.

Brigades of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) and the AAA are working to restore the operation of the systems, as weather conditions allow.

This interruption occurs as part of Storm Laura's passage through the region. Other systems could be affected by obstructions in the intake of the dams.

Given the possibility of turbidity when the service is restored, it is recommended to boil the water intended for human consumption for three minutes.
