ARECIBOThe Arecibo area director of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), Samuel Rosario Vega informed that the tanks will be cleaned at the Esperanza filter plant in Arecibo on Tuesday, January 12, Wednesday, 13 and Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

“The works will be carried out by the specialized divers of the agency. On the other hand, the filtration plant will continue to operate at low capacity during the next few weeks, as a result of a failure in one of the filters, ”explained the official.

As a result, the following sectors of the Arecibo municipality could experience from low pressure to interruption in drinking water service: Esperanza, Cienegueta, part of Dominguito, Arenita and part of San Rafael.

Rosario Vega stressed that the works are carried out to maintain the parameters required by Compliance and the Department of Health. Given the possibility of turbidity when the service is restored, it is recommended to boil the water intended for human consumption for three minutes.
