ARECIBO – The Arecibo area director of the Aqueducts and Sewers Authority (AAA), Samuel Rosario Vega reported on Wednesday night that the Río Arriba filter plant, located in Arecibo, is kept out of operation due to a hidden leak.

A “brigade from the Arecibo area conducts a check on the distribution network to identify the hidden leak that affects the production of the facility. To mitigate the situation, the agency coordinated the supply of drinking water with tanker trucks to the affected sectors, ”the official explained.

Rosario Vega added that the affected sectors of the Arecibo municipality are: Río Arriba, Jobos, Caniaco, Limón, PR-123, PR-10 and Caninas. Given the possibility of turbidity when the service is restored, it is recommended to boil the water intended for human consumption for three minutes.
