Achievement in Illinois for RUM graduate

Doctor Diana Del Rosario graduated from University Campus of Mayagüez (RUM), of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) was named Assistant Rector of Student Affairs of College of DuPage located in Glen Ellyn, in the state of Illinois.

His appointment complements the functions of the Principal Rector, and the Rector of academic affairs of that institution of higher education. The Puerto Rican, who completed her bachelor's degree in Political Science from the RUM Department of Social Sciences, began her work in 2019, after a very competitive recruitment process.

"My role covers all departments of student services, financial aid, recreation, 17 teams in the athletics area and the administration of what is known as enrollment management . This division needed someone to lead it and come up with new ideas, so they invited me to interview me. I'm starting something completely new, as well as restructuring many of the services and integration that has arisen as needed, "she explained.

At the time of her appointment, Dr. Del Rosario was serving as Associate Vice President of Accreditation and Program Initiatives of health at Cuyahoga Community College in the state of Ohio. He has a master's degree from Baldwin Wallace University, with a concentration in Leadership and Administration, and completed his doctorate in Education at National American University in 2017. His experience also includes having been selected as a Fellow in the Aspen Institute Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence program in 2016, which is highly competitive and unites education executives from all states.

The An educator keeps pleasant memories of her studies at the UPR campus in Mayagüez, to whom she thanks for her excellent training and where she also met her husband, the engineer Rubén Del Rosario, who recently joined the retreat after completing a career in the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

“I feel honored because we have always carried as a medal of honor the ex students from the Colegio de Mayagüez. We are very proud to be graduates of the Campus, "said Dr. Diana Del Rosario .

For his part, the president of the University of Puerto Rico Dr. Jorge Haddock highlighted the importance of the appointment of Dr. Diana Del Rosario for the academy and for Puerto Rico.

“The success of Dr. Del Rosario is celebrated by our entire university community. His talent, as well as his academic and administrative skills have allowed him to achieve this important appointment, of great impact for education. Likewise, its success is an example for the new generations in relation to the importance of promoting equal employment opportunities and access to leadership positions for the female population. We wish him the best of success in the face of the new challenges and we thank him for highlighting the name of the university and of Puerto Rico aloft, "said President Haddock.

Dr. Agustín Rullán Toro, rector of the RUM, also had expressions of praise for the appointment of this representative of the class of 1989.

“Receiving the news that one of our former student ambassadors receives such an important achievement, magnifies this institution that, for decades, has trained professionals who have stood out At national and international level.
