Actions You Can Take Against COVID-19 Based on Your Conditions and Risk Factors

More is being learned about COVID-19 every day, and as new information becomes available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updates the following information.

Adults of any age with certain underlying conditions are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus that causes COVID-19. Some of them are the following: asthma, cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), heart conditions, people immunosuppressed by solid organ transplantation, obesity, sickle cell disease, smoking and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

For each of these diseases, the CDC has developed some steps that patients can take to protect themselves and not get seriously ill with COVID-19.
