Aguadilla prosecutor files charges for lewd acts against a man


AGUADILLA – The Secretary of Justice, Domingo Emanuelli Hernández and the Aguadilla District Attorney José Aldebol Colón reported that Judge Juan M. Guzmán Escobar of the Aguadilla Court of First Instance determined probable cause for the arrest of Edwin Soto Medina for lewd acts against two minors, setting him a bond of $ 25,000.

The investigation of the case was conducted by the prosecutor José I. Rivera Loperena in coordination with agent Mónica Ubiñas of the Aguadilla Division of Sexual Crimes.

The events occurred between June and September 2019 in Aguada, when the defendant committed improper conduct with the minors on multiple separate occasions.

The defendant Soto Medina was charged with two charges under Article 133, Lewd Acts of the Puerto Rico Penal Code.

The defendant provided the bail imposed by the judge.

The preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 9, 2021.

An indictment is only an indictment and is not evidence of guilt. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
