Almost 80 thousand minors participating in the PAN will receive another payment | Agencies

More than 79,889 minors up to six years of age with limited resources, participants of the PAN program, will be supported in their diet starting today through the Child Care Pandemic EBT (CCP-EBT), through an allocation of $ 85 million from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

The secretary of the Department of the Family (DF), Carmen Ana González Magaz, made the announcement at a press conference after obtaining approval of the disbursement plan and the transfer of federal resources.

The allocation of funds from the CCP-EBT covers the period from October 2020 to May 2021 and grants a total of 1,139.66 to each child divided into two payments of $ 569.83 to children participating in the PAN.

Disbursements are scheduled for June and July.

“The food support of minors during the emergency caused by covid-19 is one of the highest priorities of this administration. Each eligible family will receive two payments of $ 569.86 per child in a period of two months, which represents a significant financial relief at this time for many parents, ”said the Secretary of the Family.

The head of the agency highlighted the importance of this support to families that is part of the food support plan approved by Congress and that adds up to $ 541 million disbursed to date.

“It is an unprecedented allocation aimed at the nutrition and health of minors on the Island. A large part of these children live in disadvantaged socioeconomic conditions, which the pandemic has certainly exacerbated. These resources allow them to focus on other aspects of their development and well-being with the certainty that they have food on their table ”.

The Administration of Socioeconomic Development of the Family (Adsef) has disbursed over $ 456 million from the Pandemic-EBT supporting food sustenance to 336,449 children of school age, to which today are added around 79 thousand children under six years of age from low-income families.

Each monthly disbursement can be used for up to a period of six months, so they do not have to make use of the total assistance in a single month.

Families can see the status of their account and transactions by accessing www.ebtpr.com.

The disbursements scheduled for the month of June and July will be received according to the last digit of the Social Security number of the person in charge of the Family Card account, with the exception of the digits from 0 to 3 that are issued today, Monday, 14 of June and the digits 4 and 5 that are emitted tomorrow, Tuesday.

The benefit corresponds to children under six years of age who have not already been supported by the P-EBT.

The resources of the Pandemic EBT can be used for the purchase of unprepared food in the more than three thousand certified shops of the PAN and in the Family Markets.
