AMA and the Urban Train restart operations tomorrow

After more than three months without giving service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the buses of the Metropolitan Bus Authority (AMA) and the Urban Train will resume their routes tomorrow.

As reported today in a press release the president of the AMA, Josué Menéndez, for now six of the seven trunks – which have the most passengers – will be operating daily between 5:30 am and 8:00 p.m.

“We will start with routes 2, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 37. We will keep monitoring these routes and gradually we will incorporate the rest. Vehicles have been disinfected and we will maintain that task on a daily basis. We have carried out the employees of the Authority with the COVID-19 tests, the protocols are clear and they will have all the necessary health and safety equipment, "said Menéndez.

Likewise, First Transit, which operates the vehicles of Metrobús, Metro Urbano and Tu Conexión, also restart their work.

The Urban Train will run between the stations of Bayamón and Sagrado Corazón, in Santurce, between 5:30 am and 8:00 p.m.

It was reported that each train will be disinfected when it completes its round trip route. The trains and stations have already been disinfected for their start and prepared to receive passengers with distance measures, available disinfectant liquid, and acrylics and other safety measures for the protection of employees who interact with passengers and others.
