The family of Andrea Ruiz Costas reacted this afternoon to the disclosure of one of the recordings of the court hearings in the woman’s case, in which she asked for protection from her now murderer.
“We are aware that one of the recordings in the cases of Andrea Ruiz Costas before the Caguas Court came to public light in a digital medium. Precisely, our request to the country’s courts was this”, read the written statements.
On the other hand, they regretted that the disclosure “was not through the Court” as they had requested “by means of an Affidavit on May 7.”
“Even so, we trust that there is transparency and the justice that our Andrea deserves is done,” they concluded.
The recording that was published by Noticel corresponds to the view of the March 26th before the judge Ingrid alvarado of the Caguas Court, where he was Miguel Angel Ocasio Santiago and it lasted a little over 12 minutes.
In this, Andrea is heard narrating the pattern of abuse and harassment to which she was exposed before the judge determined No Cause in her request for protection.
The Supreme Court today reiterated its refusal to release the recordings of the court case in any circumstance.
