Ashley Marie Torres, convicted of serving 111 years in prison for the alleged murder of her brother, was released today, Monday, several days after receiving a conditional pardon from former Gov. Wanda Vázquez Garced.
Torres will have to be kept under house arrest for a year and will be monitored electronically.
The conditional pardon will last 10 years and must comply with being in your residence from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, as well as not committing a crime or using controlled substances, among other conditions. Once the conditions are met, he could clear his record.
“After a thorough analysis of the circumstances of her case, I grant Ashley M. Torres Feliciano a conditional pardon for a term of ten years from the date of signing of this pardon,” said the governor when announcing the pardon. .
Torres was convicted after being charged as a co-author in the murder of her brother in 2009.
