Authorities intervene with clandestine business in San Germán

SAN GERMÁN – The authorities intervened on Friday night with several people who allegedly were selling alcoholic beverages bought in military stores in the La Salamanca urbanization, Toledo street in San Germán.

According to the report, Armando Báez Valle, a 77-year-old resident of the place, was arrested at the place. Báez Valle was a former police and military man, so he has access to buy at military bases.

Lajas resident Melva Báez Rivera and 24-year-old Giovanny Báez were also arrested.

In the place they seized 3 grams of marijuana; 1 pistol S&W model 3913 caliber 9 millimeters with ammunition; 1 S&W caliber 38 point revolver with 21 ammunition; 1 Supermatic 22 point caliber Fr. Scout pistol and ammunition of other types of weapons.

In addition, authorities seized $ 191 in cash; 4 cases of beer; 8 bottles of Vodka; 4 bottles with spouts and 31 cartons of cigarettes.

The report realizes that the complaint against the subject was raised by the residents of the urbanization.

This case was cited for January 25, 2021 by the prosecutor Gerardo Martínez. Agents from the Mayagüez Drug Division participated; the Canine Division; the Motorized Unit and Internal Revenues of the Department of the Treasury.
