Camuy barracks closed due to a case of COVID-19 and nine suspects


The commissioner of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau (NPPR), Henry Escalera Rivera, reported today that the Camuy barracks is the most recent one closed as a result of a positive case of COVID-19.

Additionally, there are nine suspected cases with symptoms awaiting coronavirus test results.

The districts of Quebradillas and Hatillo will be attending all the complaints of the district of Camuy.

Tomorrow the barracks and the contaminated patrols will be disinfected.

Calls will be received through the Arecibo Command Center and citizens can communicate at (787) 878-4000.

At the moment, four barracks or work units are closed as a preventive measure, these are: Special Arrests, Marítima de Ceiba, Alcohol Unit in Bayamón and Cuartel de Camuy.

Escalera himself is in quarantine for a contact with someone from his close team who tested positive for COVID-19.
