Candidate for mayoralty has more than $ 320,000 in administrative consulting contracts in the Chamber

VEGA ALTA – The popular mayor of Vega Alta, Oscar ‘Can’ Santiago Martínez, reacted to an investigation of the files of the Comptroller’s Office that reveal that the mayoral candidate for the New Progressive Party (PNP), María Vega, has accumulated more $ 320,000 in contracts so far this four-year in the House of Representatives.

“I received a report from the records of the Comptroller’s Office that show what the residents of Venezuela have been suspecting for a few years and that is that mayoral candidate María Vega is part of the party of contracts awarded by the president of the Chamber. The most unusual thing is that the contracts are supposed to be administrative consultancy, when there are many more people doing the same work. In a country with the fiscal crisis that we are seeing, it is incredible that this is happening, ”said Santiago Martínez in written statements on Tuesday.

The Mayor of Vega Alta directly questioned Vega to present a public report showing the work he has done on behalf of the people of Venezuela. “She has already been a representative to the Chamber. Ask in Vega Alta if anyone remembers what work he did for our people ”.

Last Friday the House of Representatives published a list of employees, positions and salaries, in the face of public pressure and after a lawsuit against the president of the legislative body, Carlos “Johnny” Méndez Núñez.
