Carolina – An ecumenical act was held in Carolina where Mayor José Carlos Aponte Dalmau participated, where the memory of the officers who fell in the line of duty last Monday was honored.
“I want you to know that in this place we will permanently honor our three heroes. And we will honor all the comrades who have fallen in the line of duty. This will be a place where we can remember them forever. Here we unite the Municipal Police and the State Police. We all look after the welfare of our people. I walked along these sidewalks and I walked with them on Isla Verde Avenue and they do it well, ensure our safety, ”said the mayor of Carolina, José Carlos Aponte Dalmau.
The mayor explained that a monument will be built to honor agents Luis Marrero Díaz, Luis Salamán Conde and Eliezer Hernández Cartagena.
“There is no other solution for people to understand that what drugs and narcotics do is enslave them. And they make these criminals rich, “added Carolina’s chief executive.
All three officers died Monday while responding to a call for a vehicle crash. When they arrived at the scene, the suspect shot two of the officers and then ran over another.
A fourth police officer was injured, but is stable.
