The mayor of Cayey, Rolando Ortiz Velázquez announced that he received the result of the Covid-19 molecular test carried out last week, giving a negative result.

"As I had promised, I publish the result and reaffirm that in Cayey we continue the municipal campaign for orientation and prevention in the face of the pandemic," said the mayor.

Last Friday, the also former president of the Association of Mayors of Puerto Rico announced that they would maintain a preventive quarantine at their home, after having attended a press conference yesterday on Thursday where the representative José “Conny” Varela was present, who had notified that he had tested positive for Covid-19.

“Given the rise in positive cases throughout the Island, we must be more strict and disciplined in handling the pandemic. Every citizen has to be disciplined, take care of himself and his family. It is time to reflect and be stricter with the protocols, "said the Caymanian mayor. The Municipality of Cayey continues an intense campaign of orientation and services through the cybernetic platforms ‘Cayey Ciudad Verde.”
