Charges against men for gender violence and child abuse


The judge set him a bond of $ 40,000 which he posted and he was released with electronic supervision until the preliminary hearing.

FLORIDA – A man identified as Joel O. Cruz Candelaria was accused of domestic violence, aggravated abuse and Law 246 or Law for the safety, well-being and protection of minors, the Police reported Tuesday.

The events for which Cruz Candelaria is accused occurred on Friday, April 30, in the municipality of Florida.

Agent Mirnell Díaz Ruiz, from the Arecibo Area Domestic Violence Division, together with prosecutor Luis Martinez, from the Arecibo prosecutor’s office, presented the charges against Cruz Candelaria, 26, a Florida resident.

The case was presented before Judge Juan Portella, of the Court of First Instance of Arecibo, who after hearing the evidence determined cause for the aforementioned crimes.

Judge Portella set Cruz Candelaria a bond of $ 40,000, which he provided through a private guarantor, and was left with electronic supervision until the preliminary hearing on May 26 of this year.
