Charges filed against inmate for Murder and Arms Law

PONCE – On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, the Ponce Court Prosecutor’s Office filed charges for article 93 A (First Degree Murder) and 3 charges for article 6.06 of the Weapons Law, this against Héctor Rodríguez Álvarez de 21 years.

This due to events reported on October 19, 2020, in Institution 676 of the Correctional Complex Sgto. Pedro Rodríguez Mateo (Las Cucharas) in Ponce, where the body of inmate Norberto Sánchez Coreano, 36, was found in cell 8 of Institution 676, who presented bruises and wounds caused by a sharp object in the area of ​​his face, which they killed him on the spot.

After the investigation carried out by agent Francisco Meléndez, under the supervision of Sergeant Luis Feliciano of Homicides and in conjunction with Prosecutor María Del Carmen Tripari, he ordered the filing of complaints for First Degree Murder and the Weapons Law, this against the inmate Héctor Rodríguez .

This case was brought before the presence of Judge Carlos Quiñonez Capacetti, this through the Video Call System (Digital Telecommunications), who after evaluating the evidence presented, determined cause in the 4 charges presented and imposed a global bond of $ 2,500,000. Héctor Rodríguez Álvarez will continue to be admitted to the Bayamón Correctional Complex.
