Utuado – A man was admitted to prison on Wednesday after criminal charges were filed against him for alleged damage caused to the public square in Utuado, damage to other places and for threatening a public official in Utuado.
According to the police report, the man was identified as Ramón Villanueva Acevedo, 60 years old and a resident of Utuado.
Agent William De La Rosa Torres, attached to the Property Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Utuado, together with prosecutor Herminio González and prosecutor Elizabeth Acevedo, filed criminal charges for various articles 198 of damage to real property and one charge by article 248 of threat to a public official.
The events were reported from November to January where it was reported that Villanueva Acevedo in an intervention allegedly threatened a Municipal Police of Utuado, caused damage to a wall of the Félix Seijo school, damage to a wall of the Cintrón Pharmacy and as recently as January 14 caused damage to the public square of Utuado.
The damage consisted of the man with spray paint writing messages against the police.
This case was presented before the consideration of Judge Catherine Brunel, of the Utuado Court, who after hearing the evidence presented, determined cause in all the charges, setting a global bond of $ 6,000 against Villanueva. He did not pay the bond imposed for which he was admitted to the Bayamón penal institution.
The preliminary hearing of this case was scheduled for January 26, 2021.
