Charges filed against man for domestic violence

Ponce – As reported by the Police, on September 17, 2020, in the Investigation Chamber of the Ponce Court, charges were filed against José F. Feliciano Nieves, 54, for articles 3.1 (Abuse), 3.2 D (Aggravated Abuse). ) of Law 54, 6.06 of the Arms Law and by article 59 of Law 246 of Mistreatment of Minors.

According to the police report, on September 16, a complaint was reported to the District of Guayanilla about an incident of Law 54, where the defendant Feliciano Nieves attacked the victim and while this was happening, he had a knife in his hand.

This incident occurred in the presence of a minor, who is the son of both. The man was subsequently arrested.

The complaint was referred to the Domestic Violence Division, where agent Héctor Torres took charge of the corresponding investigation and consulted with the prosecutor Milagros Saldaña, who instructed to file complaints.

Feliciano Nieves, was brought before the presence of Judge Carlos Quiñonez Capacetti, who after evaluating the evidence, determined a case against him for the aforementioned crimes and imposed a $ 4 thousand bond.

An indictment is only an indictment and is not evidence of guilt. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
