San Juan – Agents attached to the Robbery Division of the San Juan CIC filed criminal charges against Aarón Jamal Sonera Ramos, 24 years old.
He was arrested on September 7, at about 11:00 am, in the Capaez neighborhood of Hatillo in possession of the Dodge vehicle, RAM 1500, gray, year 2017, which was stolen by carjacking in the Floral Park urbanization, in Hato Rey.
The vehicle was stolen from a man by means of threat and intimidation, on August 26, at around 6:00 pm.
The intervention was carried out by agents from the Arecibo Stolen Vehicles Division who arrested Sonera Ramos and seized marijuana from her.
The case was consulted with the prosecutor Sarimar Andreu Pérez, of the San Juan prosecutor’s office, who in turn instructed to file charges for the articles of Aggravated Robbery (Carjacking), violation of Law 8, for owning a stolen vehicle in addition to article 4.04 of Law 4 on Controlled Substances.
The case was brought before Judge Jimmy Ed Sepúlveda Lavergne, of the San Juan Court, who after hearing the evidence found cause for arrest for the aforementioned crimes, except for the controlled substances article indicating a global bond of $ 50,000, the who did not pay, being booked and admitted to the Bayamón Regional Jail.
An indictment is only an indictment and is not evidence of guilt. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
