Charges filed for alleged sex crimes against a family in the West

MAYAGÜEZ – The Police reported on Tuesday that agent Santiago, attached to the Mayagüez Division of Sexual Crimes, along with the prosecutor Mariliza Jiménez Serrano, filed charges for alleged incest and child abuse against a family in Mayagüez.

According to the police report, the charges were filed against Herminio Rodríguez Cancel, 53, for aggravated negligence, against María del Carmen Torres Rodríguez, 35, and charges in absentia for lewd acts against Johnny Rodríguez Badillo, 31 years old.

The Uniformada specified that the events were allegedly committed in the Candelaria residential complex in the municipality of Mayagüez during 2015 to 2017, against several minors.

This case was brought before Judge Rosalinda Ruiz Ruperto, who after hearing the evidence, found cause for all the crimes charged by posting a bond for Rodríguez Cancel of $ 175,000, which was not loaned and was admitted to the Bayamón Regional Prison.

In addition, a bond of 5,000 dollars to Torres Rodríguez, which was provided by a private guarantor and in the charges filed in absentia against Rodríguez Badillo, an arrest warrant was issued with a bond of 100,000 dollars.
