During this weekend, from June 11 to 13, the municipality of Comerío is celebrating 195 years since its foundation, which is why they have organized caravans through the neighborhoods promoting awareness of socio-cultural identity and, in addition, there will be two special Eucharistic celebrations.
“We will have a Mass in the Plaza de la Trova this Saturday, June 12 at 6:30 in the afternoon, which is properly the anniversary day and then, tomorrow, Sunday, June 13 within the framework of the month of June dedicated to the Sacred Corazón de Jesús we will have a procession at 5:30 in the morning from the half moon hotel to the ‘hidden’ chapel in the El Salto sector where we will celebrate Holy Mass at 6 in the morning ”, said Father Pedro Ortiz.
According to information from the Catholic Church, Comerío celebrates its 195 years as a people in struggle and resistance to the systematic impoverishment to which it has been subjected by governments.
The Catholic priest also stressed that “it is a difficult time, but we can celebrate the achievements made despite the abuses. We are a people with dignity and between hard work and firmness of purpose we can celebrate ”.
