The confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 soared this Monday to 2,071 with an additional 225, while the probable positive cases were placed at 6,514 with 452 more infections, the Department of Health reported. .
According to the agency, of the 225 confirmed cases reported today, only 21 correspond to infections that had not been reported with a sample collection date of March 26 to June 19. In the case of the 452 new probable cases, 119 had not been reported and had a sample date of April 13 to June 18. In this line, the total of 6,514 was produced by subtracting eight cases that had a positive molecular test and became confirmed cases.

The death toll from the virus remains at 155 for the second consecutive day after no deaths associated with the disease were reported.

The group of patients between 50 and 59 years old dominates with the highest number of infections (392), followed by 40 to 49 years old (363) and 30 to 39 years old (340) .
The metropolitan region registers the most confirmed positive cases with a total of 677, followed by the region of Mayagüez (314) and Bayamón (323).
San Juan continues as the municipality with the most confirmed infections with 351 cases, followed by Bayamóm (135), Carolina (126) and Guaynabo (112). Vieques remains the only town with no confirmed infected. However, Health does not yet have available the municipality of 83 confirmed cases. of 6,514 probable positive cases it is divided between 3,480 that correspond to women and 3,034 to men.
In this category, the group of patients between 50 and 59 years also registered the highest number of probable infected with 1,254, followed by 40 to 49 years (1,095) and 60 to 69 years (974).
The metropolitan region dominates the statistics with 1,600 probable infected, followed by the Bayamón region (1,199) and the Caguas region (929).
San Juan is the largest municipality with probable cases (763), followed by Bayamón (362) and Carolina (257). The agency does not have available the town of 185 probable cases.
