Superior Judge Anthony Cuevas today ordered the director of the company 313 LLC, Ricardo Vázquez Hernández, to answer the three questions that the investigators of the House of Representatives demand about the affiliations he has with other companies and the contract he had with the Department of Health to provide rapid tests of COVID-19 .
Vázquez Hernández will have three days to report what other companies Vázquez Hernández has been a member of, the business he has had with seven other specific companies and the amount of money your company paid for the COVID-19 rapid tests that were resold to the Health Department. These three questions, as argued by the lawyers of the president of the House of Representatives, Carlos “Johnny” Méndez, have been avoided by the businessman.
“Mr. Vázquez is warned that, pursuant to the provisions of the article 34ª (2) of the Political Code of 1902, the breach or disobedience to the Order here dictated will be punished by this Court as a civil contempt ", maintains the judge in the order.
This is the second judicial confrontation between the Chamber of Representatives and the firm 313 LLC. In mid-June, the company was ordered to appear before the legislative body that investigates transactions associated with COVID-19, some of which benefited people with political ties to the governmental New Progressive Party (PNP).
The company 313 LLC sold the government $ 3.6 million in serological tests. 313 LLC was founded in 2018 by people linked to the New Progressive Party (PNP) as a company dedicated mainly to technology and computing. But on March 18, with COVID-19 beginning to increase in Puerto Rico, it changed its corporate purposes to the area of medical products and less than a week later it had made sales of $ 3.6 million to Salud.
Vázquez Hernández and his Partner Juan Suárez Lemus are donors to the PNP and some of its candidates.
