Covid-19: 14 deaths and 376 additional cases on the Island | government

The Department of Health reported today in its report 14 additional deaths from Covid-19, as well as 376 new cases, between confirmed and probable.

The total includes cases with samples taken from December 28 to January 11.

The death toll from Covid-19 now stands at 1,659, between confirmed and probable. The agency reported that the deaths reported today occurred in November, December and January.

Breakdown of deaths by region:

Metro Region

  • 89-year-old woman
  • 92-year-old man
  • 41-year-old woman
  • 40 year old woman
  • 92-year-old woman
  • 74-year-old woman

Bayamón region

  • 80 year old man
  • 65-year-old man
  • 66-year-old woman

Caguas Region

  • 74-year-old man
  • 84-year-old woman
  • 66-year-old man

Mayagüez Region

  • 62-year-old woman
  • 64-year-old woman

On the other hand, the total number of cases confirmed by molecular testing (PCR) now amounts to 79,006 after adding 191 cases.

Probable cases total 5,633 with 37 new cases.

Meanwhile, 148 suspected cases put the total number of infections by positive serological test at 60,142.

On the other hand, the Health ‘dashboard’ reflected 388 hospitalized for Covid-19, two fewer patients in the past 24 hours.
