COVID-19: Health reports three deaths and 632 additional positive cases


The Department of Health reported today three new deaths for COVID-19 that occurred this February, as indicated by the agency in its report that it issues daily.

The total deaths reached 1,986said Salud. The number is divided into 1,692 confirmed deaths and 294 probable.

The deaths registered today correspond to a 74-year-old woman from the Mayagüez region; a 75-year-old man from the Bayamón region; and an 86-year-old man from the Arecibo region.

In addition, 632 new positive cases for samples taken between February 7 and 21, which are broken down below:

  • 115 new confirmed cases by positive molecular tests. The total of confirmed cases adds up 91,816.
  • 94 new probable cases detected through antigen testing. The total of probable cases increased to 7,660.
  • 423 new suspected cases, these by positive serological tests. The total of suspected cases increased to 78,589.

Meanwhile, the agency added that due to coronavirus there is 225 people hospitalized, 28 of these pediatric.

Furthermore, it indicates that there are 43 adult patients in intensive care by COVID-19. It also mentions that 39 adults are connected to a fan due to the virus.
