
The number of coronavirus-positive cases among those detained in the Metropolitan Detention Center of Guaynabo, also known as the federal prison increased again, as reported this morning by the presiding judge of the United States Court for the district of Puerto Rico, Gustavo Gelpí.

“Two positive Covid 19 molecular results came from the air lift. MDC is awaiting several additional ", explained Gelpí, who once again advocated that no more prisoners be received from the United States in this period of pandemic.
" It is fantastic to think that there will be no more positives within the group of 54 federal detainees brought to Puerto Rico from the mainland. I reiterate that it was irresponsible on the part of those who made such a decision at the national or regional level without having consulted here before, as I expressed myself. As a consequence MDC Guaynabo is running a risk and weight that is totally unnecessary, "declared the judge.
