COVID-19 vaccination begins at Veterans Hospital


The Veterans Hospital in San Juan (Caribbean Healthcare System) and selected Community Outpatient Clinics they will begin tomorrow to offer the COVID-19 vaccine, following the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) emergency authorization for this vaccine.

“The Veterans Clinics in Ponce and Mayagüez will offer the COVID-19 vaccine to all patients 65 years of age or older starting tomorrow”Stated in writing Daniel Massa Jr., spokesman for the Office of Patient and Community Relations Services of the San Juan Veterans Hospital. Massa Jr. further indicated that San Juan Hospital will be vaccinating during the Martin Luther King observance day this coming Monday, January 18, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and no prior appointment is necessary.

“Getting the vaccine is like having hope, the cure is coming! As vaccine supplies increase, our ultimate goal is to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to all veterans and employees who want to get vaccinated, ”he said.

Veterans visiting San Juan Hospital or its selected clinics for vaccination may come walk-ins or by appointment during regular hours. Veterans in San Juan must report to the OPA yard. Patients interested in getting vaccinated can later document their interest in their medical records.
