Deaths from coronavirus reach 404 on the island


The Department of Health reported today nine deaths from coronavirus 18 confirmed cases and 12 probable additional.

Seven of the deaths were classified as confirmed . These correspond to a 62-year-old man from the metropolitan region, a 76-year-old woman from the metropolitan region, a 57-year-old woman from the metropolitan region, a 79-year-old woman from the Bayamón region, an 82-year-old man from the metropolitan region, a 54-year-old woman from the metropolitan region and an 86-year-old man from the Aguadilla region.

The other two deaths were recorded as probable and correspond to an 86-year-old woman from the metropolitan region and a 71-year-old man from the metropolitan region.

With these fatalities, the total deaths from coronavirus increased to 404 divided into 263 confirmed and 141 probable. [19659003] On the other hand, the total of confirmed case results is 14,010 of which 7,358 are women and 6,652 are men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of August 18 to 21.

Meanwhile, the 12 additional probable cases have a sample collection date that includes August 16 to 23. In this row, the total is 16,734 after subtracting four cases that subsequently had a positive molecular test and were added to the cases in this report. On the other hand, three cases with sampling dates of May 13, July 29 and August 13, respectively, were subtracted. Probable cases are divided into 9,222 women and 7,512 men.

The dashboard of Health indicates that 397 people are hospitalized for coronavirus on the Island. The figure was yesterday at 391 .
