The Secretary of the Department of Labor and Human Resources, Carlos J. Rivera Santiago, announced today the disbursement of $ 16.5 million for the retroactive $ 300 weekly directed to beneficiaries of Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA, in English).
It was indicated that these funds were approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to address the loss of employment caused by the pandemic of the COVID-19. Some 18,863 PUA claimants will receive payment.

They will receive $ 300 retroactive to August 1 for about three weeks initially, that is, they will receive $ 900 in total, as long as they have not worked during that period, ”Rivera Santiago said in written statements.
