Moderate, severe and abnormal drought conditions were slightly reduced in Puerto Rico between June 23 and 30, according to the report issued on Thursday by the United States Drought Monitor .
In western Puerto Rico, anomalous (DO), moderate (D1) and severe (D2) drought was reduced, due to rain between two to five inches .
Many areas along the south coast they have a rainfall deficit of between two to five inches . In some sectors on the south coast the rainfall deficit reaches 10 inches.
While in the east there is between 25 to 50 percent of normal precipitation.
The rainfall deficit in the San metropolitan area Juan reduced the level of the Carraízo dam, which supplies water to some 140,000 clients of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) in the towns of Trujillo Alto, San Juan, Carolina and Canóvanas.
Today, Thursday, began the water rationing for the 140 thousand clients who depend on Carraízo .
