Failure in pump station affects the drinking water service in Cayey sectors

The Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) reported that brigades from the Cayey operational area are working on repairing a mechanical breakdown at the Cercadillos 5 pump station (EB) in Cayey, as reported by director José Sepúlveda Sánchez.

As explained by the official, “the pump motor at this station has a mechanical failure and it is necessary to take it to a workshop so that residents of the Cercadillo, La Lapa and Pasto Viejo sectors will experience interruption of the drinking water service.”

As a mitigation measure, potable water will be distributed in AAA trucks.

Once the engine is repaired and installed, service will gradually be restored and subscribers are advised to boil the water for a period of three minutes before human consumption.
