A breakdown in the distribution line located at kilometer 20.6 of the PR-119 highway, in San Sebastián, left sectors of that municipality and the Planas neighborhood in Isabela without drinking water.
The director of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) in the Aguadilla area, Nelson Saavedra, reported that while the fault is being repaired, the Guajataca filter plant in Isabela is out of operation.
If there are no problems, the repair of the damaged line will conclude at night and the service will be restored from the early hours of Sunday.
The affected places in San Sebastián are the Hoyamala, Aibonito Guerrero, Aibonito Beltrán, Cibao, Guajataca neighborhoods and the upper parts of Robles; and in Isabela, the Planas neighborhood.
Given the possibility of turbidity when restoring the service, it is recommended to boil the water intended for human consumption for at least three minutes.
