The Family Markets sponsored by the Departments of Family and Agriculture return this week to the municipalities of Peñuelas and Coamo, with a new sales model with a trolley, to avoid contagion of the novel coronavirus.

The offer will restart this Thursday, October 29 in the parking lot of the Luis Muñoz Marín de Peñuelas Stadium and on Friday 30 in the parking lot of the Pedro M. Caratini de Coamo Stadium. On both occasions, services will be offered from 7:30 in the morning to 2:00 in the afternoon.

As explained, among the established changes, everyone will be required to wear a mask and comply with the physical distancing measures. Also, that visitors arrive in their vehicles and remain in them to be attended by program personnel.

People with disabilities and older adults who cannot arrive in vehicles will have a different waiting space, but with limited capacity, to ensure distance. There they will be cared for separately.

Before arriving at the booth, program staff will be available to verify the balance on the Family Card account. Similarly, it will provide all participants with a list of available products with their prices, to have a pre-order ready, before arriving at the stand.

Each order will be dispatched in bags by the farmers and the participant will only have to make the payment of the transaction upon arrival at the stand.

The closing of the Family Markets, frequented by a large population of older adults, took place on March 15 after a Covid-19 emergency was declared in Puerto Rico.
