San Juan – The Independent Special Prosecutors, Ramón Mendoza Rosario and Zulma Fúster Troche, filed on Thursday two complaints against Armando Agrón Valentín, who worked as an Investigation Agent of the Organized Crime and Drugs Division of the Department of Justice.

The crimes charged are: Article 182 (Aggravated illegal appropriation) and Article 202 (Fraud) for alleged illegal appropriation of more than $ 100,000 in public funds.

Judge Jimmy Sepúlveda of the Court of First Instance, San Juan Chamber, determined cause for arrest on both charges and set him a bond of $ 20,000 ($ 10,000 on each count). Said bond was deferred by the Pretrial Services Program.

The defendant must appear on Friday, October 23, 2020, in the morning hours at the office of the Panel on the independent Special Prosecutor for the corresponding transfer, as established by law.

The Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for November 5.

An indictment is only an indictment and is not evidence of guilt. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
