Fire Department Bureau system hacked | government

The commissioner of the Fire Department, Alberto Cruz Albarrán, revealed today that the computer systems are “compromised.”

According to what has transpired, a hacker managed to control the systems, for which he requests 600 thousand dollars to release them.

“We have reported to the Police Bureau that the Fire Department’s Bureau’s systems are compromised after an outsider had access to it and requested money in exchange for the return of the accesses,” stated Cruz Albarrán.

He indicated that the Bureau’s IT staff works, in conjunction with the Department of Public Security, to correct the situation with the corresponding authorities.

“It is important to mention that the response to emergencies remains unchanged and we continue to attend to the situations that are reported,” he said.

Cruz Albarrán urged any citizen who has an emergency to call 9-1-1.
