“In accordance with the current Executive Order that seeks to avoid the conglomeration of people and orders merchants to follow social distancing protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19, this year the period of school sales without IVU is extended for four days, "said the first executive in writing.
Parés Alicea explained:" The sale will begin at 12:01 A.M Wednesday, July 29 and will end at 12:00 midnight on Saturday, August 1, 2020 . In this way, consumers will have more time to schedule their purchases, following security measures. ”

The sale of uniforms or school supplies on time or 'lay away', will qualify for the exemption from the IVU, when the final payment is made during the days determined in the period. Likewise, items purchased with vouchers or 'rain checks' will qualify for those days, regardless of the date it was issued.
Items qualifying for exemption from SUT, which are purchased during the exempt period using a certificate or Gift card will be exempt regardless of when the gift certificate or gift card was purchased. Items purchased through the mail, by phone, email or internet will be exempt from the SUT, when the item is paid and delivered to the buyer during the established period.
