SAN JUAN – The National Meteorological Service (SNM) in San Juan, issued on Thursday afternoon, a flash flood warning for Mayagüez.
According to the SNM, the flash flood warning will be in effect until 5:30 in the afternoon.
At 2:23 p.m., Doppler radar detected heavy rain in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain has fallen on urban areas. Runoff from rains over the mountain area will result in steep rises along small streams and rivers.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
