SAN JUAN – General José Reyes of the Puerto Rico National Guard (GNPR) mentioned on Tuesday that an application was developed for the COVID-19 vaccination process in the first phase.

“We are using an application that we have developed to establish an appointment process and next week, between the 4th and the 7th, we will be opening Arecibo, Mayagüez, Ponce and Humacao,” Reyes said to questions from the press.

“That’s why we want this application to streamline the process,” he added.

Regarding Vieques and Culebra, Reyes mentioned that “we are going to carry out an operation between January 11 and 16, but we are going to vaccinate all the people in Phase One.”

He explained that on Saturdays they will exclusively attend doctors and dentists.

The announcement of the new application comes after doctors made the decision to spend the night in front of the gates of Coliseíto Pedrín Zorrilla to ensure a shift of the 600 that are being provided per day.

Recently in an interview with CyberNews, Reyes said that the initiative to create a registry or application was theoretically correct, however, it was somewhat difficult to put it into practice.
